The Career Exploration Showcase, held in conjuction with the Ontario Technological Skills Competition, is an exciting opportunity for your organization to promote careers within your industry and attract many skilled young people.

This unique event, which will be held on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the RIM Park and Manulife Financial Sportplex, Waterloo, provides corporations, government agencies, colleges, universities and industry representatives with the opportunity to interact with over 10, 000 visitors - including students, teachers, parents and the general public. The Career Exploration Showcase will grant an opportunity for visitors to research career opportunities in the skilled trades and technologies, as well as see the skills in action at the contest sites.

Career Exploration Showcase
The Field Trip Of The Year!
You and your students are invited to attend the Career Explorations Showcase at the RIM Park & Manulife Financial Sportsplex, Waterloo. This annual event is held in conjunction with the Ontario Technological Skills Competition - event where over 900 students from across Ontario test their skills and abilities against industry standards in over 40 skilled trades, technological and employability contests.
Skills Work®!
Technological skills mean jobs and the future of Canada. This showcase provides the link between the skills and the job and allows students to explore different career opportunities in a hands-on way. Many industries are currently seeking a strong base of technologically literate young people to help their industry maintain and grow into the next century. The first step is to show young people that there is a link between technological skills and jobs. Come and see for yourself!
Students will be presented with:
* Over 40 hands-on, interactive displays
* Government Representatives
* Industry, Associations and Labour Contacts
* Information about Post-Secondary training - Colleges, Universities and Apprenticeship

As applications will be on a first-come, first- served basis, please complete the registration form and return it promptly to Skills Canada - Ontario or reserve below by online registration.
All teacher/adult organizers are responsible for transportation and the conduct of their students. Please be sure to inform your students of your plan for the day. Once your reply form has been received and processed, you will be emailed with confirmation that you and your students are registered. An informaiton document will be sent as an attachment to this confirmation email answering all frequently asked questions.

A BBQ Lunch will be for sale in the parking lot area of RIM Park on both days. All proceeds support the Skills Canada - Ontario Bursary. For $5 you can purchase a hamburger or hot dog with chips and a pop and show your support.
