2008 OTSC Medal Design Winner:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Design a medal to celebrate the 20th Ontario Technological Skills Competition.
ELIGIBILITY:
Students from affiliated high schools and colleges are eligible to participate. An affiliation form is available from Skills Canada - Ontario upon request, or online.
RECOGNITION/AWARD:
The winning student will receive:
- Recognition in the “2009 Annual Guide to Programs and Competitions”, the winter edition of the “Skills Work!® in Ontario” newsletter, and online at www.skillsontario.com.
- A plaque and an honorarium of $50.00.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- Designs must be submitted in black and white on 8 ½” x 11” paper. Designs may be created by hand or on computer. The design must be shown in actual size, the maximum size being 3” x 3”. Both the front and the back design of the medal must be shown.
- The following criteria, singly or in entirety, will be taken into account when judging the selection:
- the year of the competition (2009)
- indication of the 20th Anniversary
- the words “SKILLS WORK!®”
- the words "Skills Canada - Ontario"
- the acronym "OTSC"
- All entries must be identified with the student’s name, school, teacher/advisor, course, grade, complete home mailing address and home phone number.
- All submissions become the property of Skills Canada - Ontario and will not be returned. Skills Canada - Ontario has the right to reproduce the design, or modify it in any media chosen.
- Selected submissions will be displayed during the dates of the competition: May 4-6, 2009 at the RIM Park and Manulife Financial Sportsplex, Waterloo.
- This is an individual event. No teams please!
- The winning design may be produced as the official medal awarded to competitors at the 2009 Ontario Technological Skills Competition.
DEADLINE: Entries must be postmarked by November 16, 2008
