Serves up an interactive, informative and inspiring day! For seven consecutive years, Skills Canada Ontario has been proud to offer the “Think Skills…Think Future!” Young Women’s Conferences, an award-winning program held in conjunction with the Ontario Technological Skills Competition. Held at Bingemans in Kitchener, the purpose of the conferences is to introduce young women to careers in the skilled trades and technologies through a fun-filled day with hands-on activities, informative presentations, a terrific lunch, inspirational guest speakers, and informal networking with female role models who work in the skilled trades and technologies. The day is complete with a tour of the 19th Ontario Technological Skills Competition and Career Showcase. The “Think Skills…Think Future!” Young Women’s Conferences foster a positive environment in which young women have the opportunity to hear several speakers talk about the rewards of their chosen career path, and to network with mentors from their community who provide them with advice, guidance and inspiration by sharing their experiences. The young women leave feeling empowered and informed about a variety of career choices available to them, many of them in non-traditional areas. If you would like more information about bringing students to the conferences or would like to participate as coaching mentor or guest, please contact Karen Throupe at 807.684.8853 or email karent@skillscanada.com.
