Cardboard Boat Races

Each year, the Cardboard Boat Races provide the opportunity for Ontario students to test their math and technology skills in a fun and competitive environment.  Teams of four arrive at this popular, full-day event with a drawing of their cardboard boat design.  Skills Canada – Ontario provides the supplies to construct a cardboard boat during the two hours, on-site, construction time.  In the afternoon, the competitors put their design to the test in the swimming pool in both a race and weight challenge.
Races are offered at two levels: Senior Elementary and Secondary

Secondary
The Cardboard Boat Race for secondary students (grades 9 – 12) were held on November 29, 2011, in  Espanola, London, Ottawa, Sutton, Toronto and Thunder Bay.
