Volunteers

Skills Canada – Ontario is a leader in promoting skilled trades and technologies as viable, first-choice career options for Ontario youth. This could not be achieved without the help and support of community volunteers.

The Ontario Technological Skills Competition is the cornerstone for Skills Canada – Ontario. Annually, 1,800 students and roughly 30,000 teachers, sponsors, parents and employers gather to participate in and observe the competitions that take place in over 60 contest areas. Offered at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary level, these contests allow participants to showcase their skill, talent and knowledge, while providing them networking opportunities within industry, labour and government.

During the competition, Skills Canada – Ontario also offers the Career Exploration Showcase, Elementary Career Awareness Workshops, Elementary Challenges, Young Women’s Conferences and Closing Ceremony for attendees.

In order to offer these events, Skills Canada – Ontario requires help from industry professionals, community members and others interested in making a difference for tomorrow’s workforce.
