SafeWorkStart: Orientation Training for Young Workers in Manufacturing November 26, 2011 in Cambridge

SafeWorkStart, a 1-day course has been created specifically for young workers who work in firms engaged in manufacturing. Developed in partnership with the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) and Skills Canada, the course  focuses on the five major hazards in the manufacturing industry – machines, chemicals, slips/trips/falls, manual material handling, and mechanical material handling, and explores relevant topics such as roles and responsibilities and the principles of recognition, assessment and control of workplace hazards.

Who should register for this course?

  • Employers in the manufacturing sector that hire young workers
  • Individual young adults planning to enter the workforce in the manufacturing sector

Participants receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.
