Thank you Firman Fire and Safety |

x
We have some great partners at Skills Canada – Ontario. Although this is a little ironic, it shows the commitment some of our suppliers big and small have to this organization. Firman Fire and Safety is a small business based out of Kitchener and each year they clean out there warehouse and provide us with every fire extinguisher they have available to support us at the OTSC. I called the owner today to make arrangements for this year and he informed me that the building where his business is located, burnt down last night due to one of the neighbouring units. The ashes aren’t cold yet and he is assuring me that they will support us this year and he will be back on his feet in time to provide us with all the equipment we need for 2010. |

People Without Jobs, Jobs Without People: Ontario’s Labour Market Future |
|
Mardi, 09 Février 2010 14:35 |
x Ontario’s Workforce Shortage Coalition is a coalition of business, education and labour leaders concerned about the province’s skills shortage. The coalition represents more than 100,000 employers and millions of employees. Please click here for a copy of Dr. Rick Miner’s report, People Without Jobs, Jobs Without People: Ontario’s Labour Market Future published by the coalition. The report examines the intersection of two mega-trends -- an aging population and an emerging knowledge economy. The report predicts 700,000 Ontarians will be unemployable by 2021 due to a lack of postsecondary training or credentials. It reinforces many of the issues and concerns the coalition has been speaking about and it provides stark and compelling evidence of the absolute necessity for business, educators, government and industry to act now to address this challenge. |
