Linamar announces 2017 scholarship winners and recipients

Each June, Linamar Corporation offers apprenticeship positions in three trade areas (Millwright, Electrician and Machinist) to graduating high school students. In addition, there are 6 scholarships available to Conestoga College for the Mechanical Technician General Machinist diploma program. These programs have guaranteed co-op, and opportunity for full-time employment upon graduation.

Skills Ontario is delighted to announce a new annual $1,000 bursary for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) students in Ontario. Each year, a FNMI student who participates in the Skills Ontario Competition and pursues an engineering or applied science technology program at an Ontario college will be selected for the award.





Exploring the trades and technologies with Skills Ontario Summer Camps!

Thunder Bay, ON – This summer, nearly 400 students across the province will begin exploring future career options in the skilled trades and technologies at Skills Ontario Summer Camps. These week-long camps offer skilled trades and technologies workshops, industry tours, and mentorship. Held at 20 locations across Ontario, each camp hosts a range of hands-on workshops, depending on the specialization of the host college or industry facility, allowing for unique sets of experiences across the province.
