Feb 22 2017

Conestoga College is actively recruiting applicants for its Truck and Coach/Heavy Equipment Technician Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program, slated to begin on March 27. This tuition-free program, funded by the Government of Ontario, will give participants insight and experience in skilled trades careers and achieving apprenticeship certification.

Starting in March 2017, the Pre-Apprenticeship Truck and Coach/Heavy Duty Equipment Technician program will be offered at Conestoga's Guelph campus and runs full-time during the day for 23 weeks. The program also features an additional eight-week practical work placement experience.

This program includes multiple trade exposure with Truck and Coach Technician, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Agricultural Equipment Technician and Powered Lift Truck Technician. Commercial Vehicle common core Level 1 apprenticeship in-class training is also included.

Only 24 enrolment spaces are available in this tuition-free program.

An information session will be held at the Conestoga College Guelph campus on Tuesday, February 28 at 1:00 p.m (Room A17).

Note: Following the information session, interested candidates will be asked to stay and complete a written assessment as the next step in the admission process. Conestoga College will review these assessments and select candidates for personal interviews. The written assessment will consist of English, Math, and Mechanical Reasoning. Candidates will need to bring a pen, pencil, calculator, and SIN to complete the application.

Registration required for this session. Please confirm registration with Kristen Goetz by email at preapp@conestogac.on.ca or by phone at 519-885-0300 ext. 5484.
