About
Skills Ontario wants to support and enrich the professional and personal lives of Skills Ontario Alumni. The Skills Ontario Alumni Association celebrates alumni stories and successes, and allows alumni to network and come together.
Through the Association, the accomplishments of Skills Ontario Alumni are showcased and recognized, and alumni have the opportunity to share their expertise and experience with students across Ontario. Skills Ontario Alumni represent a vast pool of knowledge and talent, and have accomplished amazing things in their lives, whether it’s in the field they competed in, or if their Skills Ontario experience has positively affected another aspect of their success.
Many alumni continue to be involved with and support Skills Ontario, and we are proud of their achievements and important contributions. Volunteer Mentors – Young Women’s Initiatives
Skills Ontario is recruiting volunteer mentors for Skills Ontario Young Women’s Career Exploration Events across Ontario this fall and winter. These events connect female students with women who are currently working or training in a skilled trade or technology career. As an Skills Ontario alumni, you can share your unqiue experience and career journey, and contribute to the innovative programs of Skills Ontario. Each event requires a time commitment of approximately 3.5 hours and takes place over lunch or dinner times.
Young Women’s Conferences at the Skills Ontario Competition, Toronto, May 4 & 5, 2020
Workshop Leaders, Technical Committee Chairs, and Judges - Skills Ontario Competition
Elementary Career Awareness Workshop Leaders
Plan and facilitate a skilled trades or technology related workshop to be delivered to groups of grade 7 and 8 students. We have a special need for service sector workshop leaders, particularly for culinary workshops. E-mail for more info.
Technical Committee Chairs
As a skilled trade / technology professional, lead the organization of, and procurement of materials for, a contest at the Skills Ontario Competition.
Contest Judges
Apply your industry expertise as a judge at the Skills Ontario Competition! As a volunteer, you can provide valuable feedback and mentorship to students competing in your past contest area (or other area of expertise) and make a positive impact on their training and education.
If you are interested in lending your time and expertise to a Skills Ontario Competition contest or any other position, like marshal or event assistant, you can register to volunteer through this online form, or E-mail for more info.
Event Marshals
Marshals are an essential role to our success and act as a liaison between the technical committees and competition staff for the set-up, execution and teardown of the contest sites. Communication and organizational skills along with a willingness to work hard are the best attributes a Marshal can have. Join our team and share your passion for the skilled trades!

Every other year, Skills Ontario invites former Competitors to enjoy a night of fun, recognition, and reminiscing!
Come and share your memories of competing at the Skills Ontario Competition and how your experience as a competitor contributed to where you are now. Reunite with your fellow medalists while enjoying dinner, panel speakers with their success stories and trying to find yourself within our photo and video presentations.
