Female students encouraged to enter skilled trades

NEW TECUMSETH — Only 4% of skilled tradespeople in Ontario are women.

That's a statistic that the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) and Skills Canada Ontario are hoping to change by attracting more young women to jobs into the trades.

MARATHON, ON – October 21st, 80 elementary students, representing 11 schools from across the Northshore and Greenstone, gathered in Marathon to compete in SkillsOntario 2014-15 Cardboard Boat races (see full results below)
