Tuition-free Pre-Apprenticeship programs launched at Conestoga College

Beginning January 2017, Conestoga College will begin accepting applications for two new tuition-free Pre-Apprenticeship Training Programs.

Funded by the Government of Ontario, the programs are aimed to provide insight and experience into skilled trades careers and a head start on achieving apprenticeship certification.

Conestoga College will offer its Truck and Coach/Heavy Duty Equipment Technician program through the Guelph Campus, and the Welder/Metal Fabricator program through the Waterloo Campus – both starting in May 2017.

Conestoga College is now accepting applications for two new Pre-Apprenticeship Training Programs which will give participants insight and experience with regard to a skilled trades career and a head start on achieving apprenticeship certification. These tuition-free programs are funded by the Government of Ontario: 

Truck and Coach/Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Guelph Campus
Starting March 2017 

Welder/ Metal Fabricator, Waterloo Campus
Starting May 2017

Information sessions will be held at both the Guelph and Waterloo campuses as follows:

Waterloo campus, 4:00 p.m. start  – January 25 and February 7
Guelph campus, 4:00 p.m. start  – January 12, 18 and February 2

Note: There are only 24 enrollment spaces are available in each program. Applications for these programs are open to those age 16 or older, and no longer a secondary school student. Completion of Grade 12 is preferred, but not mandatory because academic upgrading assistance will be provided.
